Hi, Im Jessica

In 2010 I experienced my first out-of-hospital birth with a team of midwives who treated me with a kindness and compassion I hadn't experienced during my previous pregnancies. Though it was my fourth pregnancy, this was the first experience I'd had that my provider took the time to get to know me, offered me the information I needed to make truly informed choices about my care, and was as passionate as I was about bringing my baby into the world in a way that would leave us both feeling peaceful, bonded, and well cared for.

I had a wonderful birth and, afterward, knew with a passion that I wanted to help other women feel the way my midwives had helped me feel. I trained and began attending births as a doula soon after and welcomed several more babies of my own over the next decade while pursuing a winding path toward midwifery.

I attended a satellite program of Ancient Art Midwifery from 2019-2022 while assisting and apprenticing with several seasoned midwives. I completed my apprenticeship and passed the NARM exam in 2023, becoming a Certified Professional Midwife, and obtained my South Carolina Midwifery license in 2024, several months after the birth of my very last baby.

Today, I spend my days providing prenatal care at my office, attending births providing postpartum care in women's homes, and caring for my own family, who have all become wonderfully flexible with the comings and goings necessitated by midwifery. When I'm not with families, you'll most often find me at one of my children's wrestling tournaments, hiking with friends, or taking day trips to explore the restaurants, museums, and parks of cities and small towns within reach of Rock Hill.

Credentials

I am a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) with the North American Registry of Midwives and am licensed by the state of South Carolina as a Licensed Midwife (LM.) I am currently certified in BLS, adult CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation. I attend various workshops for continuing education and emergency skills each year to ensure I am able to offer clients the care they deserve.
